While I’ve been off working, John has apparently been at home making this little steak marinade and slathering it on rib-eyes for every friend we have. Maybe even his side girlfriends. Ew I’d be more mad at the fact he was cooking for his mistresses than I would be for the sex part. Is that disturbing or what? It’s totally true. Anyhow, I only had the pleasure of trying it for the first time just the other night. And wowza, seriously, IT’S GOOD.
My personal favorite part is that when I asked him where he got the recipe, he said, “I’ll email it to you”. So I’m thinking John came up with his own special john-coction, but no. Here is the link I got: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/best-steak-marinade-in-existence/
John pretty much googled, “best steak marinade” and found what is actually the best steak marinade in existence. I actually hope he googled “best steak marinade in existence” and it came up with this direct hit. Men. So easy.
Instructions are easy. Blend it. Pour it. Soak it. Grill it.
Eat it.
Not kidding. This stuff is good. Check out the recipe above and let me know if you love it as much as we do
xx

that looks extraordinary
I love that you guys have a kitchen and that you actually use it!
Can’t wait to try it…but there’s no way this beats the Chipotle Marinade. No way. No how. Have a great weekend, and thank you again for entertaining us all with great recipes, bomb pics, and pee-ya-pants tweets.
Adios,
Mike
xx!

I am going to try this or my man. I truly adore ou Chrissy and I thank you or remaining authentic. I have a passion for food as you do and I love love to cook and have people enjoy it. Discovering you has made my world brighter. Okay enough!
Sorry for typos. Stupid Apple!
I thought that first typo was hilarious. “I am going to try this or my man,” like you had to choose one or the other.
Ahhhh!!!!! Love. The. Two. Of. You! I could hurt you guys! Lol
Anywhoo, Chrissy I agree and I am probably weird too, I’d upset that my husband cookked for his side-pieces, too
)
I will be trying this one. Most def!
Stay so super cool please…
Ps: I want to cook with you Chrissy. Then sit down and eat and chat

Yes! I have used this exact same recipe, also a result of googling “best steak marinade”! It really is just so good.
Oh yum! A man that can cook. So hot. You guys are such a great match! Hot cooks. =) But back to the steak, only on ribeyes or would it be okay on a sirloin etc? P.s. thanks for not posting vegan stuff, dont give in to the silly demands!
An ex-boyfriend won my heart with a marinade very similar to this, though I think he used a little beer in it, too. I won his heart when I told him I wouldn’t eat the steak if it was cooked any more than medium-rare. Ah, young love!
Me: “Chrissy Tiegen has a new recipe”. My husband: “FINALLY! When are you making it?” Me: “Well it’s actually a steak marinade that John found. I thought you could make it this weekend.” My husband: “Don’t you think it’s weird that we talk about Chrissy and John like they are our friends?” Me: “Yes.” Husband: “Yeah, me too.”( as he dutifully gathers ingredients for marinade)
lol this is awesome
we ARE your friends.
I tell people I get recipes from “my friend”. It sounds so much less creepy than “a hilarious girl I stalk in twitter”
Looks absolutely delush!!!!
Holy smackerel that looks yummy & not too hard

Damn that looks delicious.
Hey Chrissy! In the recipe it said to add hot pepper sauce and garlic if you’d like. Can you ask John or if you know what “hot pepper sauce” he used in the marinade and if he even used garlic? I want to make it exactly like he did!! Haha Thanks Chrissy & John you’re the best!!
Looks so very delicious and very tempting to eat! In fact, I’ve learned the best steak recipe at GOURMANDIA and GOURMETRECIPE. They have lots of exciting and interesting recipes for you to choose from. Not only that, they have lots of recipe videos for you to watch while you are cooking in your kitchen. Try it!
that looks so good
And Allrecipes has a video for this recipe.

Holy macaroni! It IS the best steak marinade in existence! Just made it last night and it was amazing. Even better, you can use your immersion hand blender so you don’t have to get the big one all dirty.
(I never comment on blogs, but if you would be so kind Chrissy, please let John know his song Ordinary People means the world to us. My husband and I have been together for almost 19 years now – we’re 37 & 39 – and that song came out during a trying time in our relationship. So of course, I tell my husband about the marinade and such and we go on to have a sappy moment
Chipotle marinade is next!
Thanks for bringing us great food and making us laugh.
That’s how I discovered Chrissy’s blog! (@stephanielairson) Stay With Me is our wedding song and I am such an admirer of John that I was curious about Chrissy. Chrissy, I found you on Google the same day you started this blog and I have been a fan ever since. I have tried over 20 of your recipes so far and even though I screwed some up, your relaxed and fun way of sharing them makes me try again. Now I joke that if I ever actually met John (yeah right, I am in Victoria, B.C.) that I would completely forget about telling him the impact his music had on me because I’d be so busy asking him about YOU! LOL.
It has been really great seeing your life with John through your blog. (which is why my husband and I include you in our random dinner conversations as I said earlier.)
this is so sweet and so, so awesome to read. thank you so much!!
That steak looks soooo good! Thanks for sharing!

Why is the light on in the oven?
hi.
have you seen this article in Norway : http://minmote.no/index.php/2012/07/stjel-stilen-til-john-legends-«norske»-forlovede/ ??
i dont know if you speak norwegian or not, but apparently the norwegian press is proud of calling you “norwegian”. the article is about how we can learn to dress like you:) love your outfit btw.
Jeanette:)
Hi! We tried this today and LOVED it. I am a huge fan of John’s and now am impressed more that he cooks. Damn, you are lucky!!
Thank you again for sharing the recipe! I am posting it now on my blog too!
I found this blog through the same article Jeanette linked, and I too was curious as to whether or not you identify yourself as Norwegian at all. Well that was why I clicked myself onto your blog, but then I ended up spending over 45 minutes reading your posts from way back and I just have to say you are freakin hilarious. it’s just LOLZ all the way. if i lived in LA i would totally go check out the food places you mention but sadly i am a Norwegian girl currently located in North Dakota (college and such ya know).. so it’s kinda far away. and cold during the winter. and remote. and sucky. anywhoo, that was my rant, have a great day! PS i love your man’s music and PPS that AllSaints skirt in the article is divine, currently waiting for it in the mail whoop whoop
Just made this last night….freakin amazing!
Yesterday I was at an excruciatingly boring suburban party for my son’s baseball team. I was telling a couple of the other moms about this fantastic sounding marinade I was going to try. One of them replied, “I don’t eat meat. Or wheat, corn, potatoes, dairy, rice or sugar. I only eat bread made with gluten-free coconut flour. And no fruit except blackberries, blueberries and raspberries.”
I soooooo wished I had a Chrissy Teigen Twitterworthy response to give her. Instead I resisted the urge to say, “What the f#&$ DO you eat?” in the interest of maintaining the peace.
Dear chrissy, i think i have fallen in love with you!! I love that you eat bacon, carbs and yummy steak
)) and you re absolutely gorgeous and beautiful
))
I just discovered ur blog, but i will damn sure try some of your recipes,

Kate

Happy New Blog Follower!
Lindsay
I’ve missed reading your blog! :[ buuut i found this guy and thought you should maybe start doing vlogs like him ;] http://www.youtube.com/user/GhettoNN
I must say that looking at this picture of John here and thinking of your face, your kids are going to have the most delicious cheeks. So adorable!
Hi Chrissy! I know this is off topic from this post but I recall from a post/tweets earlier this year that you were having culinary career unsureness (not that you need career advice from a 22 year old whos only direction she has is that she loves food, but I thought it could help!) and if that’s still the case I thought you might be interested in this book I’m reading: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0307453200/ref=mp_s_a_1?pi=60×75&qid=1345680670&sr=8-1
Made this marinade recently, and it was amazing – so savory. My favorite marinade though is a shit ton of garlic, lime, cilantro, cumin and jalapeno mixed with olive oil. It’s a perfect summer steak marinade!
Looks SO damn Delicious! The chicken too!!
You are a lucky woman!
Steak******* I was also reading your chicken post! Hahaha
I’m a huge steak fan! I was just re-introduced to your blog by a fellow Twitterer.. why did I stay away?? Your blog entries are so readable. I love your personality and enthusiasm for food. Cheers!
Chrissy! Where you at giiiiiirrrl?! I miss your hilarity, recipes, and photos!
Where art thou? I only recently discovered your blog and read all of the posts at once!
Awesome stuff!!! Thank you
Looking forward to the next one!
I found your blog today because someone had posted a picture of a dish they had made from one of your recipes. Your boyfriend is really lucky to have someone in his life that enjoys cooking and feeding people as much as you do. I appreciate your palate, everything you eat sounds delicious!
I just spent three hours reading this entire blog and my my life has definitely been improved.
I couldn’t wait to make this after reading the post because it sounded so amazing. I really, really, really wanted to LOVE this marinade but I just only liked it. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the fantasticness I was hoping for. The other steakers raved about it though so that was a plus. I think it just has too much parsley for my taste although I can’t be 100% sure that was the culprit of my disappointment. I will definitely try it again but will more likely have to tweak it a bit. Thanks for the post. I love trying out your recipes.
i don’t know how i ended up here but i’m glad i did! gonna try this marinade on my sirloin steak right now. thanks for sharing!
